About our Secure Server Technology

Your Transaction is Safe—From the Pentagon and Your Husband!

Shopping at ArtistsClub.com is safe. Your personal information—including your name, address, telephone number, customer number and shipping information—is encrypted when you send your credit card data. We use Secure Socket Layer technology to protect your transmission over the Internet so you can rest assured that your personal and credit card information is fully protected. This 128-bit encryption algorithm technology is state-of-the-art—not even the Pentagon could gain access to your transaction with ArtistsClub.com.

To protect yourself on any Web site, check the bottom of your browser window for an icon that resembles a couple of keys beside a locked lock (Internet Explorer) or a locked padlock (Netscape). If you want to be doubly certain that your transmission is secure, double-click on the lock icon at the bottom of your browser window to display a copy of the company's security certification. You can also double-check by looking at the top of your browser window where the "Address" dialog box is: When accessing a secure server, the first characters of the site address will change from "http" to "https."

For your protection, we do not allow unsecured transactions. If your browser or computer setup does not allow transmission through secure servers, our server will not allow you to connect to us, so you won't have to worry about mistakenly placing an order through an unsecured connection! Instead, please print out your order from the Shopping Cart Screen and call our toll free number. Or you may fax or mail your order to us.

Ordering from Our Web Site is Fast and Easy!

We designed our Web site to be fast and easy to use. All of our products are grouped into categories, which can be accessed easily from either the header at the top of every page or from the footer at the bottom of each page. Clicking on a category link will take you to a category search page. Such links include "Books & Videos", "Projects" (instructions are sold separately unless otherwise noted), "Surfaces" (wood, glass and paper surfaces that are adaptable to many designs), and "Tools & Supplies" (this includes Paints, Brushes, and other supplies like palettes, brush cleaners, etc.).

On each category page, we provide specially designed search options that will help you find what you are looking for easily—without having to sift through a list of unrelated items. In addition to book covers, we provide up to 12 full-color pictures from the inside of each pattern book so you can get a look at the painted projects, the style, the difficulty level, etc., before you buy. We also link each book to the painting projects we offer from that book and, similarly, we link each painting surface to all of the patterns we have available for that surface. When you decide to purchase an item, you add it to your shopping cart by specifying the quantity and clicking on Add to Cart.

How your Shopping Cart Works
Isn't it amazing that you can put items in your Shopping Cart, leave ArtistsClub.com, then come back a few days later and the items are still in your Shopping Cart?

We can "remember" your Shopping Cart via cookies (what are cookies?) When you place an item in your Shopping Cart, we place a small file on your hard drive (called a cookie) to remember what you have placed in your Shopping Cart.

This method works wonderfully if you always browse our site from the same computer. But, many people surf not just from home, but also from work, school, or the library. If you started shopping from home, but then surfed our site from work, you will notice that the items you put in your Shopping Cart at home don't show up when you are at work. This is because all of that Shopping Cart information is stored on the hard drive of your computer at home.

To make your Shopping Cart "mobile"
Be sure to log in to ArtistsClub.com on both computers. If you place some items in your Shopping Cart from home, then log in (or log in and then shop), we will attach the contents of your Shopping Cart to your user record (this record contains all the information you entered when you registered with us - name, address, etc.) Then, when you are browsing our site from a different computer, just log in and the items in your "saved" Shopping Cart will be instantly available.

It doesn't matter at what point you log in to our Web site. You can add things to your Shopping Cart, log in, and we will then save the contents of your Cart. As you make changes to your Cart (by adding, modifying quantities, or deleting items) we will automatically save the changes to your customer record information. The same holds true if you come back to our site from another computer. You can start shopping, then log in. Once you log in, we can add the items you just added to cart to the "saved" Shopping Cart you had from the other computer.

Remember, unless you log in to our site, our computers don't know who you are, and won't be able to attach the contents of your Shopping Cart to your customer record.
What happens if I use more than 1 computer to shop, but I don't log in?
Items that you place in your Shopping Cart or Save for Later will remain on the hard drives of the computers that you use. For example, let's say you start shopping from your computer at home, but do not log in. You then go to the library, and continue browsing ArtistsClub.com from there. You will not be able to access the Shopping Cart or Save for Later you created at home, because you did not log in at home. If you log in to our site while you are at the library, and then go back home and log in to our site again, we will combine your "home" Shopping Cart and Save for Later with your "library" Shopping Cart and Save for Later.

Think of logging into ArtistsClub.com in the same way that you save files on a floppy disk. If you want to use a file on different computers, you save it on a floppy disk to take with you. When you log into ArtistsClub.com, we save your Shopping Cart and Save for Later for you, so that you can access them anywhere you go!

  About Viewing Your Shopping Cart
The Checkout navigation link on the top and bottom of each page will take you to your shopping cart. There you will find a summary of the item numbers, the quantities of each item, the description, the price, and whether each selection you have made is in stock. Whenever you link to the shopping cart screen, it checks your product requirements against our inventory and will tell you if any items are not available for immediate shipment. This page will also tell you if certain items in your cart have shipping restrictions on them (for example, postal regulations prohibit shipping aerosol products outside the continental United States).

Changing Quantities: You can easily change the quantity of each item you desire by typing in a different number in the box provided (including putting the item "back on the shelf" by entering '0'). After you have changed quantities, click on the small (update) button to send your changes to our server.

Special Offer Code: When viewing your shopping cart, you also have the option to type in a special offer (promotional) code and update your Shopping Cart to reflect it. If you have a special offer code that you would like to apply to the current order, type in the code in the box provided and click the Apply Promotional Code button. This will send the information to our server and the page will re-load with the updated information.

If you want to continue shopping, click on the button and you will be returned to the page from where you clicked the Add to Cart button.

About Reviewing and Submitting Your Order

After entering your email address and password, you will be taken to the submit page. This screen will allow you to review your name and address data, your product purchases and to submit payment via credit card.

If your personal information requires editing then click on the link just above your shipping and billing information, or click on the link to "My Account" navigation link on the top and bottom of each page.

If you choose to modify the shopping cart click on the Edit My Cart link to delete or modify the quantities of any of the items you have added to the cart. If you wish to add additional items to the cart, then use the product navigation links at the top and bottom of each page to go to product search pages. This section also allows you to change the Shipping Method to Rush, if applicable. Your particular combination of shipping address and items in the cart may not allow this option (for example, postal regulations prohibit shipping aerosol items by air or outside the continental U.S.).
See Terms of Sale for more information.

After you have reviewed your personal information, product purchases and the total of your bill, you will be asked to pay for the merchandise with your credit card. Please specify the type of card you are using, the credit card number, the expiration date and the name of the person on the card.

After filling in this data click on the Complete Purchase button. After you have clicked on this button your order will be transmitted to us electronically. You will receive an order confirmation via e-mail, usually within 1 hour. The notice will contain your order number and your customer number, which you will need if you have questions regarding your order. If you have any additional questions please call our Customer Service Center at: 1-800-845-6507 between the hours of 5AM and 6PM PT Monday - Friday, 6AM and 3PM Saturday or fax us at 1-360-260-8877. To continue surfing our website, just click on one of the navigation links on the toolbar at the top or bottom of the page.

Is it safe to use my credit card?
Yes, shopping at ArtistsClub.com is safe. Since our beginning in 1990 we have processed millions of credit card orders for hundreds of thousands of satisfied customers. We use Secure Socket Layer technology to protect your transmission over the Internet and you can rest assured that your personal and credit card information is fully encrypted. This technology is industry standard and no server other than ArtistsClub.com will be able to decode it. Check the bottom of your browser window for an icon that looks like a couple of keys beside a locked lock (Internet Explorer) or a locked padlock (Netscape) if you want to be doubly certain that your transmission is secure. For your protection, we do not allow unsecured transactions. If your browser or computer setup does not allow transmission through secure servers, our server will not allow you to connect to us, so you won't have to worry about mistakenly placing an order through an unsecured connection! In the unlikely event of an unauthorized use of your credit card, your bank will either cover all of the charges or will limit your liability, just as with all non signed over-the-phone transactions you make in the "non-cyberworld" (with mail order catalogs or airlines for example). To learn more about about your issuing institutions' policies, please refer to your credit card disclosure statement or contact your bank or issuing institution directly. Finally, if you feel more comfortable, you can print out your order from the View Cart Screen and call us with your order. Or, you can print out your order from the Order Submit with all data included and fax or mail your order into us.
