Is it safe to use my credit card?

Yes, shopping at ArtistsClub.com is safe. Since our beginning in 1990 we have processed millions of credit card orders for hundreds of thousands of satisfied customers. We use Secure Socket Layer technology to protect your transmission over the Internet and you can rest assured that your personal and credit card information is fully encrypted. This technology is industry standard and no server other than ArtistsClub.com will be able to decode it. Check the bottom of your browser window for an icon that looks like a couple of keys beside a locked lock (Internet Explorer) or a locked padlock (Netscape) if you want to be doubly certain that your transmission is secure. For your protection, we do not allow unsecured transactions. If your browser or computer setup does not allow transmission through secure servers, our server will not allow you to connect to us, so you won't have to worry about mistakenly placing an order through an unsecured connection! In the unlikely event of an unauthorized use of your credit card, your bank will either cover all of the charges or will limit your liability, just as with all non signed over-the-phone transactions you make in the "non-cyberworld" (with mail order catalogs or airlines for example). To learn more about about your issuing institutions' policies, please refer to your credit card disclosure statement or contact your bank or issuing institution directly. Finally, if you feel more comfortable, you can print out your order from the View Cart Screen and call us with your order. Or, you can print out your order from the Order Submit with all data included and fax or mail your order into us.

What are cookies and why should I use them?
"Cookies" is an Internet term that refers to a packet of information that a host computer (in this case, our Web server) uses to identify a visiting computer (in this case, your system running the browser). Each visiting computer is assigned a unique identification number that allows us to open and process a private shopping cart for you. As long as you use the same computer to access our site each time, a cookie allows us to save on our Web server the shopping cart for your next visit (kind of a wish-list!) and will help us find your customer information (excluding credit card data which we never save), to save you from the inconvenience of re-entering your billing and shipping information.

How do I enable my cookies?

For Internet Explorer and AOL users on Windows '95, '98 and NT: Click on the "Start" menu, choose "Settings" and then "Control Panel". When "Control Panel" opens, click on the "Internet Options" icon, which will open the "Internet Properties" menu. Cookie options will be under either the "Advanced" tab or the "Security" tab (under "Security", select "custom level"). You should select the option to "accept cookies" and then click "Apply".

For Netscape Navigator: Pull down the "Edit" menu on the menu bar, click on the "Preferences" option, and select the "Advanced" tab, which will display your "Cookie" options. Select "Accept All Cookies" then click "OK".

Please note that if you enable your cookies while browsing ArtistsClub.com, our site may not necessarily register the change immediately. To ensure that our site can place cookies on your hard drive, either leave ArtistsClub.com and return to it, or quit your browser and then reopen it.

If you cannot find cookie settings in any of these places, please look up "cookies" under your browser's "Help" menu or contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for instructions.

How accurate are the colors I am seeing?

When obtaining images for paints and books, we do our best to achieve the highest level of color accuracy and image sharpness without compromising how quickly the images will appear on your screen. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee how images appear to you. Every computer system and monitor displays color differently. If you've ever been in an electronics store, you may have noticed how the same television program looks different on various display televisions. Think of your computer system in the same way. A green will probably never appear blue, but it may be difficult to tell the difference between a blue-green and a turquoise. Some images may also appear darker than the item will actually be in real-life.

If you are dissatisfied with how color displays on your computer, we recommend discussing it with a qualified professional (whether that be your granddaughter or technical support from the place where you purchased your computer.) It is possible to improve color accuracy on your computer- it may require only simple tweaking of your display settings or it may necessitate the purchase of new software or hardware.
